To add current activities to the system first login to the Admin portal and go to Site Information > Current Activities > Click Add Activity

Then Fill in the Description, Start and End Date, upload an image and click Save.

Note: The more common ways to announce activities are through Notices, Alerts and Events so it may be normal to have nothing in Current Activities. It will depend on how you want to set it up.
